Taking a bunch of these! Selene is so badass. I still need to see this movie. It is, of course, on my previously mentioned vampire marathon To Watch list.
Glad you like them! Selene is my hero. (Or heroine, if you prefer. XD)I am convinced that, if someone were to watch only one or two vampire movies in his/her lifetime, those movies should be the first two Underworld movies. :)
Well they certainly have the best mass appeal. However, as a self-described vampire junkie, I have to say there are a few more that I would put above Underworld. The original Lost Boys, for example--that's classic. And Nosferatu of course, which is the first and most accurate adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula, even though it was filmed against his wishes. Bela Lugosi's Dracula also--have to represent the old Universal monsters somehow. I personally loved Near Dark, although that's a really weird one, and extremely violent. Chan Wook Park's Thirst is one of the best I've seen recently, and I love that director anyway.
Okay stopping now--I can go on a bit about vampires. *ahem* I've seen and read more vampire-related stories than is probably good for me. But I write about them too, so I can always chalk it up as "research."
Underworld should definitely be on that Must See list. But there are sooo many good ones out there.
