I've only ever been to comic conventions, but it was ages ago. I was mostly interested in comics and gadgets stands and in watching the cosplay shows (some costumes were really amazing). I've never been to a fan convention before and I'm not really involved in fandom these days, not enough to really enjoy it anyway.
