i know it's really tragic and everything, and it sucks...

but am i the only one that finds it funny that he was filming a documentary about the world's most deadly creatures?

Actually, it's incredibly ironic. Fatal stingray attacks are rare and Steve Irwin is only the second Australian to die because of one:
