Graton Road

I probably wouldn’t reminisce about my dead high school friend Rachael so much if her grave wasn’t in a cemetery on the road to the Russian River. I realized that with dairryiere moving in, obliviot and psoup in Pennsylvania, and Niki and Scott somewhere further north, there’s more death than life in Sonoma County for me. At least with my oldest friends. It seems ( Read more... )

Ahh, Graton Road - I remember driving that road everyday to work and back...did you ever go to our house out there? I loved that place. Gab was a baby when we were there (we rode out the '89 quake when we first moved in), Scott M lived in Sebastopol and would come over for dinner every once in a while. So sorry it makes you sad to travel north...seeing Novato now makes me sad (driving by Ron's old house esp) but glad I got away.
I was just talking to K today about all our old addresses, and that's the one add (Graton) I couldn't remember.
We're still alive, G, and with you in heart.
XOXO

Rachael's mom lives next door to your old place. I was there a few times.

I'm glad you guys got away, but only because you seemed to need to. I do miss you. I even miss those snarly teenagers of yours.

S Edison St! That's it.
I had to Mapquest it to find out.

Yeah, we needed to - we couldn't afford (financially, emotionally, educationally) to stay. We sacrificed a lot to do it, but I think it has paid off in many ways.
The teenagers, eh, they're not so bad.
They can be amusing, even helpful when they want to be.

I can't see Graton road without thinking of cheese making, it was part of my commuute.

You can also visit my family in Sonoma to remeber why you don't live in that county.

Byron was at the river with Hiya & Jonathan this weekend... it was their fifth anniversary or something and she is from Sonoma.
