I woke up to the news of the earthquake, and was shocked to hear that tsunamis were reaching the west coast. It felt like a blow to the chest in a way.

Was mother nature always this vindictive?

I think that was when it really hit me. Of course I knew the earthquake and tsunami in Japan were horrible, but when you hear that this tsunami is travelling halfway across the world it makes you realise just how bad it is.

It does seem to only be getting worse everywhere.
