I'd be willing to bet that even though she was still screaming even while you were holding her (and that image in of itself gives me warm fuzzies..screaming and all)you being a safe haven where she COULD scream in warmth and safetfy went a long way. Maybe the poor kid just NEEDED to get it out without fear of anyone or anything hurting her,and you let her do that.
I'm sorry you were hurt though.
and if my spacer on my laptop doesn't stop sticking, I'M going to start screaming
