I'm not familiar with Thrillkiller either (I assume DCU AU), but I really like the different feel that the characters have here. As usual your language leaves lush imagery scattered about my brain, clothes upon the floor.

And, now, wearing trousers and tipping her fedora brim to the prettiest girls as she strides down Sprang, she's all man. She's taking up too much space, her arms swinging free, as she adopts Dick's liquid swagger. It's in the hips and jut of the shoulders, Zitka's pressure burning warm between her legs, a cock of her head and wide grin. It's the confidence that she belongs and can take whatever she wants.

There's a certain *time*stamp on this, an elsewhen, which is *wonderful*.

Plus femslash rimming. I am so here--just a few days late.

Thrillkiller, like most Imaginary Stories/Elseworlds, is great on concept (Babs the heiress who fights crime and steals a Robin from the circus) and kind of crappy on execution. The setting though, right when the 50s went sleazy, right around Camelot, takes my breath away.

Thanks so much for giving this a whirl - I'm *so* happy the time setting worked for you and I'm sorry for assuming you'd be familiar with the canon.

But thank you, more than anything, for being my Valentine. Every single day. <333

I think that time comes through so well in this. And I did manage to infer that Babs was the Bat, that Bruce either didn't exist or never evolved into him.

But thank you, more than anything, for being my Valentine. Every single day. <333

Oh, so sweet! *hearts back*

Oh, oh, by all the deities of sex, YES. And yes and yes.

You so deserve a long detailed quotey comment from me, but I have very little brain. But I wanted you to know I loved this, and I love your writing, and oh my word what a spectacular story.

Also: I LOVE Thrillkiller. And I, for one, found this story to fit so well with it-- so well with its Babs --- I'm tempted to print it and stick it in back.

...wow. I tend to think of you as a major connoisseur of the threesome form (like a villanelle or Bildungsroman!), so it's spectacular to hear that this worked for you. (As I said in my email, I have to believe I'm doing something half-right. ;])

Characterization-wise, that is *most* reassuring, too, because I thought I'd extrapolated pretty carefully.

Thank you, darling. SO MUCH.

The Cat's bending forward, arm curled around Dick's neck, crushing him to her as she bounces in her heels. "Got to get me one of these."

Yes. Me too. And I doubt I'll be able to find one at the tobacconist's, damnit. I love how Dick here is still Dick Grayson, but he's more importantly Thrillkill Dick, who is sulkier and (more obviously) needier and hopelessly devoted to the Bat in ways he isn't allowed to express when it's Bruce. One of my favorite little moments in TK is when Jim calls Dick a gigolo, because there is something of sexual flexibility in the air around him at all times even though it comes from a place different from a desire from profit. Dick was the lost puppy with a fondness for other strays; she simply signed the checks.

I was also all over how Babs' take-charge personality was expressed through her sexuality, particularly in how she appraises Dick and Selina. I'm in love with the details here, how Selina's costume leaves marks on her body that Babs tries to rub away, and frankly how goddamn sexy Selina is ( ... )

I am *so* glad to hear that this version of Dick worked in your eyes. The "gigolo" line really sealed it for me, actually, as did - well, I'll just quote you: needier and hopelessly devoted to the Bat in ways he isn't allowed to express when it's Bruce. YES. The het dynamic actually worked to queer Dick up *more* than usual, especially if it's read against the main continuity.

I desperately crave sadsack!Detective Bruce Wayne/gigolo!Richart in this universe.

Babs' status as Boss Lady is one of my favorite things; textually, it's undermined by the fact that she's reckless and Not the Real Bat (and, oh *man*, how much do I dislike the fact that the story's teleology concerns Bruce reassuming his manhood rightful place thing?), but that doesn't change how much I enjoyed reading it.

frankly how goddamn sexy Selina is
*rejoices* I...have nothing else to say. I'm just beaming.

Thank you so much.

I've been meaning to make a post for the longest time about how fucked up it is in Elseworlds where the premise is that the women are in charge, considering that the tagline of the series is: In Elseworlds, heroes are taken from their usual settings and put into strange times and places - some that have existed, and others that can't, couldn't or shouldn't exist.

Can't, couldn't, or shouldn't? C'mon. That Batgirl/Supergirl Elseworld really sets my teeth on edge for those reasons, not to mention how in it Babs gets called out for being a creepy fascist even though Bruce-Bats always gets away with that sort of behavior. (Though I did enjoy Tim as the JLA's computer bitch.)
