Oh god. Please RyMurph, shut your face for this one and don't make it a bigger deal than it should be. FINE, Justin said no, YES it would have garnered more attention to him but so what? Everyone has a choice!

I hope this doesn't become another case of "Oh, they don't want to be on our show? They must be AWFUL people who HATE THE ARTS IN SCHOOLS!!! Blah Blah"

Give it a rest please.

to play devils advocate they may donate to art programs but no make a big publicize statement about it, cause if they'd did, people would just say they're trying to cover their image, doing it for publicity etc etc

Not saying they do, but it's possible they do and just don't make a big fuss over it. Honestly when Ryan says things like supporting the arts, I've always thought he simply meant encouraging things like music, glee clubs, and such in school. Like in my old high school we didn't have a glee club but the show inspired a bunch of kids to start on. I'm not sure how that worked out, I don't sing, and I was a senior at the time, but still. It's something.

Well, there is this: http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2010/11/ryan_murphy_glee_to_aid_new_yo.html
It's not specific about the arts program, but it's education and the LGBT community, the other big Glee flag.

*sigh* Amazing how any piece of news immediately turns into "RM sucks".

I don't really understand why artists would deny Glee using their songs. Do they seriously think they are "above" typical pop culture? I mean, you're in the entertainment industry... any publicity is good publicity. Embrace the pop culture trends and work with them as much as possible. Being featured on Glee is a good thing.

Right? Not only is it a nod to your place in pop culture but think of the exposure, royalties, giving a potential new audience a listen to your music. It should be a compliment but I guess not everyone feels that way. :\

Especially someone like JT. He is cheesy pop culture entertainment. What could he possibly have to use by having his songs covered?

Well, looks like no one on Glee will be getting their Sexy Back.

Someone had to say it..

Shrugs. I don't even like JT as a person but eh, he's allowed to say "no." It's his music.
