I know it shouldn't be a big deal but... My eldest just used the word *oppressive*. Happily, it was not in response to our parenting techniques.

My baby is growing up!

She thought I was silly. She said, (with typical teen sarcasm) "So?...I used pseudonym yesterday."

To which Bargeral said, "I see you're working on *pretentious* as well."

Here's one that came up today in relation to the storm... "hunker" as in "Storm's coming, we'd best hunker down"

Great words. Though *dodge* makes me think of dodge ball and so that makes it a very scary word.

Kashnitzles actually sounds like a yiddish word for something...
As in "I baked a lovely batch of Kashnitzles" or "Back in my day, we had to have Kashnitzles for breakfast every day... and we LIKED it"
