Time out

Squishy put me in a time out yesterday.

He kept finding and playing with the band-aids.

I grabbed the box (for what seemed like the 10th time ) from him.  With an exasperated "Will you please Just leave them alone!!!", I tossed them up even out of my reach.

Then I shook my head and muttered, "Man, I need to calm down.  I need a time out"

That's so cute.. sometimes you have to get creative like that with kids, it's funny to see the look on their faces when something turns around on them. Is this your son or nephew?

Squishy is my little daycare boy. I tend to think of him and his older brother (minireggie) as my "weekday sons". I had daughters on my own, but I have to borrow my sons.

Minireggie and Squishy are the sons of friends of ours from high school. When Minireggie was born, his parents looked at me and said, "We were thinking... you're at home with your girls anyway...". Well, that was 7 years ago, Minireggie is in the 1st grade, so I only see him on school breaks and overnights.

Squishy and I hang out during the day while everyone else is at school.
