Goodbye, funny how it's such a hard thing to say

Today, my childhood cat passed away. His name's, well I guess it's Roger technically as that's what's on the vet's records, but we called him Midget or Midge (or Midgeotto once Pokemon came out). I feel at a loss of what to do because we've had him since I was 5. He was 17 and passed away in his sleep, so I know he went peacefully. He was curled up ( Read more... )

It is hard for anyone to lose a close friend. It sounds like he did have a happy life with you though, enough that he was put to rest gently instead of being in pain. While it was for the best it doesn't make this easier. Letting go of an animal is hard, and I want you to know I am here for you. Drop me a new email, PM, direct tweet, whatever will help you out hun.

I'm sorry for the comments again. I am sorry if I had stepped on toes, but I think you are really a great person to work with and with how far you have come since when things were crazy with commissions really says a lot to me. You are now one of the most conscious artist I am aware of. C':

I wish I could sketch up something really quick but I'm not good with rushing but I will be seeing if I can't make some Larvagoodness to help you out. Again, please talk to me if you need too. ;;

;-; Sorry about your cat. Sounds like it lived a great life though. But at least the fish is awesome. c: I'm thinking of getting one, maybe. It's about all I can take care of at the moment. =_=;

My boyfriend's grandma has a cat and a dog that are about 17, and I'm probably going to be really upset when they go too. :C I got attached to them when I lived there.

And sorry you got brought into the stinky plush mess. :c That was just downright spiteful of them, and I hope they get a talking to at least.

So sorry to hear about Midget. I only know all too well how it is (and yesterday, the 30th interestingly enough, is the mark of Pussi's death a year ago) so if you need to talk some more about it, I'm only just a comment or a PM away.
I'm glad to hear how well you've taken care of Midget for all those years, and of all deaths I'm glad Midget got to pass away in his sleep. A peaceful death after a long, full life. 17 years is pretty damn well.

I also saw those really low comments that person dragged you into. Must say, I'm disgusted with the person for feeling like dragging you down and taking a few stabs at you because THEY couldn't take responsibility.

Ugh, it fucking stinks when a beloved animal passes. I've never gotten over my dog passing away over six years ago.

I'm glad you have Dougie though! c:

*Hugs* I'm so sorry to hear about Midge. It sounds like he came from a difficult situation where he certainly could have died, though, and went on to live a long and happy life where he was loved. It even sounds like his passing was peaceful. It's a shame you never got to give him a real goodbye, but just know that you did what you could for him so he could have a good life. I lost my kitty I had had since I was six last year (she was sixteen), so I know the feeling. There's certainly a hole there, and you miss them. But...we all die, eventually, so I think in a way, pets who live long lives with us should be celebrated at the same time they're mourned. Because we did what we could for them, and they got to live out their full lives.

It never helps when the world makes it harder for you to mourn, too, by giving you other tough things to deal with on top of that.

That is so sweet of your friends to get you that cute goldfish. :D
