Francine would not be jumping from any cliffs, thank you, not unless somebody hooked her up with a set of those magicked wings Karla had brought to Fandom.

She would happily swim and play on the beach, though, and for now she was choosing the first of those options, glad that the water was far warmer than Fandom's would be, this time of year.

Katchoo was not crazy, at least by cliff-jumping standards, and would not be jumping from them either. Magicked wings or not.

She would, however, try to sneak up and grab Francine's ankle from underwater.

"Ack! Dragons, I am not for eating!" That would be an admirably epic flail there, with the bonus effects of excessive splashing.

"Relax, you dork!" Katchoo bobbed to the surface, and while she hadn't heard the warning, the flail had been epic enough to . . . convey its meaning through underwater currents or something. Look, it was effective flailing.

"Oooh, you.... you..." The splashing was deliberate this time. "I thought you were a dragon!"

The splashing got return-splashing. So there. "The damn shame of the thing, Francie, is that I don't actually breathe fire."

"After you've had those spicy tamales from Taco Loco? I beg to differ."

". . . okay, you got me there, Francie." Katchoo snickered. "But it still doesn't count if I can't do it at will, dammit."

"Well, you're not gonna start carrying tamales in your pockets, I'll tell you that." Francine sent one last splash her way, then flopped on her back to float. "You'd forget and leave them there and our room would be nothing but flies."

Katchoo stuck her tongue out, treading water near Francine's head. "I'm not that bad!" Yes you are, Chewie.

"I'm sorry, what was that I pulled out of your jeans pocket the other day? A thousand shreds of kleenex and some mushy thing I really hope used to be one of those gummy erasers?"

". . . and half a pack of cigarettes." She was really sorry about that one.

Francine snorted. "At least they were unsmoked so the laundry just smells like tobacco and not ashes."

"Francie, if they were smoked, there wouldn't be any tobacco to fall apart in the laundry," Katchoo pointed out. And splashed her again.

Shh. Just a little.

Don't make her duck her head under and spit water at you like a fountain, Katina. she'll do it. She will.

"Katchoo. I trust in your superhuman ability to make things smell like ashes even when it defies the laws of physics."

Oh, bring on the spit-fountain, Peters. Bring it.

"What can I say? I didn't set my alarm clock the day they were handing out superpowers."
