I don't usually do memes, but I saw this one going around and thought, "what the hell, I've nothing better to do except slack off on my responsibilities." Besides, after watching the new S6 trailers, I'm pretty sure that the Doctor is going to be the only thing on my mind for a good long while. (Is it Easter yet? Bah, I'll get my coat, then ...)

Day 1, plus some absolutely unnecessary pulpiteering by yours truly. )

They're all fine quotes - the one at the end of Survival is probably my favourite Who quote of them all. My favourite Eleven quote is his speech to little Amelia at the end of the Big Bang, which I found similar in tone and sentiment. I think the reason I've like Eleven so much so far, despite supposedly being a bitter oldschool fan, is that he seems almost to be channelling Seven and/or Two at times (one of which - pick one! - was probably the other one's evil twin or something :D). Not a bad thing from my point of view! :D

Regarding the light/dark sides of the Doctor (and focusing now on the dark ones) - I'm really interested to see what River meant (in the trailer) when she said that the Doctor will rise higher than ever before, and fall so much further. That is very intriguing stuff ... because he has risen incredibly high, and he's had some extremely dark moments, too. Of course, it's a terrifying thought, but that makes it all the more addictive.
Eleven is like ... like a backwards Seven. Seven was all manipulative and stuff on the outside, but inside you could tell he cared about people like crazy. Eleven is soft and playful on the outside, but his core is this dark, twisted, powerful bastard who will rewrite your timeline right in front of you. Scary stuff, that ... like I said before, it will be interesting to see how they play around with it in S6.

It is a worrying prospect, really... I think we might be in line for a bit more Time Lord Victorious type stuff, except Eleven would likely be less showy about it...and more inclined to follow through... D:
Yes, I think that's as good a take on Seven and Eleven as I've seen in a while. In both cases, there's an act, and the underlying reality, but the act they're putting on is a bit different in either case. Eleven is trying very hard to appear whimsical and harmless, when underneath... I think also that while Seven could be dark, he never enjoyed it. Eleven seems pretty cool with his own inner badass, really. And I'd argue Seven was much more honest and level with Ace than any of the NuWho Doctors have been with any of their companions, with the possible exception of Ten and Donna...and look how that ended up... O.o

Have fun with the meme. It has a way of taking ...longer... than thirty days.

There's a lot one could play with when it comes to Seven and the Time War; there's a lot of stuff that happened in between the NAs even and the Act of Master Restitution before the TVM. I've been searching diligently for fanfiction regarding it, and unless I'm blind and stupid (both possibilities, btw), I can't seem to find any. (If you know of any, though, please pass them my way.)
