I haven't read the True Blood books, but the show is utter crack.

1. apparently the true blood show is nothing like the books? i still won't watch it, but that's what the internet tells me. so it shouldn't matter if you wait or not.

2. i've also heard that VD is really good, but i refuse to watch it. unless someone told me that scene in the woods was done verbatim, in which case i would watch the shit out of it. #justsaying

The True Blood books are fantastic, number four was my favorite! Seasons 1 and 2 stick close enough to the books, but they've definitely taken more liberties in the third series. If they don't stick closely to the fourth, I may cry. haha.

And VD has gotten heaps better this season. I... only got through the first five chapters of the first book before giving up on it because I was already sold on the show version, so I'm totally biased. But I say check it out because it's awesome and Lucas Boone Ian Somerhalder is way hot?

i'm still watching vampire diaries, and this season has definitely had a serious upswing. it's absolutely nothing like the books, but i'm still okay with devoting an hour of my life every week to it.
