Pinch-hitter sign-ups are open-ended, but pinch hitters will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis: if an author needs a pinch-hitter, the mods will email the first person on the list whose form suggests that they might be willing. That person can then accept or refuse the opportunity to pinch-hit for the fic in question. If they'd rather not, we'll move to the next person on the list.
