One Piece marathon part 1
September 10- October 08: Finished 1-100 episodes.
Omg finally passed the 100 mark!! T_T It took me a while to get into it...but after they finally entered the grandline and past the dragon filler arc to episode 65, it was smooth sailing and pretty quick to get into.
Right now, the most appealing thing about One Piece, is Oda's ability to give every character a freakin backstory. And he doesn't mind taking the time to develop everything about the character, even if they are minor. Which is quite impressive considering HOW many characters that exist in One Piece :O! Thus, the series is 400+ long because the arcs are long. I think about the first 90 episodes was just getting Luffy's crew member @_@;;
And the variation of designs for each individual is amazing. But the female characters, seem to have the exact same face and body shape /: I can probably replace Nami's hair on Vivi and they'll still look the same. But so far, the girls aren't as annoying. I somehow want to ship Nami with everyone haha...(well individually). Luffy/Nami moments were so cute during Aarong arc.
And just recently, I think adding the D兄弟 just made it for me haha.... want to draw them together XD Ace being the polite brother and meeting Luffy's crew for the first time was so classic haha...
I thought Chopper would be annoying, but no, he's ridiculously cute!!! Omg his seiyuu!!!! And even Usopp seem more of a practical guy than annoying. He doesn't seem to be the obnoxious liar...in fact it sorta dies down. Plus, I enjoyed how Nami and him would be scared together haha. Sanji is just adorable ahhaa when he's flirting with the girls and how he call out to Nami-suwan~~<3! Zoro role seems to have died down to just a swordsman or sleeping most of the time, but I liked how he was playing with his new katana XD As for Luffy, shoot, his own crewmen beats him up and he's a bit slow minded. Esp in Drum Island, where he suddenly realizes its cold after 20 minutes in. And when he kicks ass, he kick asses. So many かっこいい moments.
Okay, I'll end my rambling here. Below are basically quick tweeted thoughts as I was watching the episodes.
001: going to start one piece from the beginning. i know i've watched a couple episodes....maybe it was in random order with my sis...
-arcs better last within 5 episodes each!! i like short arcs like gintama and ranma...
-everytime zoro speaks, i imagine hijikata toushirou instead. orz;;
008: goddamn this series is moving at a slow ass rate...
011: okay i remember watching this episode.... aw site is down!
-usopp's arc is waay to long and sappy!! move on already!! i think i'm too use to arcs ending within 2-3 episodes
017: Usopp's arc is over. Finally. Bed time!
019: Zoro flashback all the way here? XD;; Even Usopp had an epicly long backstory.
020: Sanji finally appears! I think I watched his arc already.... why was I jumping episodes?
025: So we are in Sanji arc but get distracted with some Zoro's goal. only 0.06% done from the current running 400+ episodes oi
026: it seems like every character came to an epiphany during childhood.
028: かっこいいぞ、ルフィ!!
-in one piece...even flashbacks gets cliffhangers...what the heck...
036: ah...nami arc is just as long....
039: finished! nami arc might be even longer than saji or usopp....
044: Nami arc finally over!! Ah...bed time...
-48 episode later...new opening! Ah funny how I downloaded all the songs before I even watched the series.
048: Wow, I like how they tie the opening line into the actual episode about Gold Rogers. nice.
-one piece artworks are ridiculously crazy *_* how does oda keep up with this. i think he and murata are passionate with what they do
