Christmas Fic: 'O Tannenbaum' (Pintel & Ragetti, etc.)

Dec 10, 2009 21:18

I love writing -- and reading -- Christmas stories! This one is set a year after Home for the Holidays, a story I wrote for erinya, formatted as a series of drabbles that were set in my post-AWE Shipwreck Cove universe (which was originally borrowed from inspired by artaxastra's fabulous Outlaws and Inlaws series). One of said drabbles featured Pintel and Ragetti ( Read more... )

I love this! The boys, making an utter wreck of things as they usually do, and Jack keeping them from getting shot with typical Jack aplomb, smoothing it over. A lovely Christmas present! It's so much fun!

I'm very glad you liked it, particularly as your wonderful stories inspired my own excursions into this universe. Pintel and Ragetti are good-hearted scoundrels, particularly if they think there's something in it for them. Although the Swanns' ex-butler would probably beg to differ.

Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

Ex-butler being the operative part! I do love the way you write Teague in particular!

We're doing it a favor, takin' it to the Cove...
I adore how they can convince themselves of anything! This really is their trademark.

Lovely story, you hit all the right notes - the boys, Jack's forethought and light fingers, Teague's boiling temper and the ending, awww, made me smile. Thanks for sharing this.

Forgive me for taking so long to reply, the holidays are catching up with me. I'm so glad you thought Pintel and Ragetti in character -- I can "hear" the characters when I write, but conveying it to others is always the trick. Thank you for reading, and for the feedback. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story.

Happy Holidays!

Wonderful drabble! I have a soft spot for "the boys" myself, and it's always fun to see P&R wrangle with the logic of a situation (even if, as is often the case, that logic is a bit warped and twisted, and only understandable to P&R). ;-)

The boys are perfectly depicted here, and in fine form! I can easily see this scenario playing out for them, and "hear" their voices saying those lines! Great job!

Love Jack's "lifting" of Teague's firearm here! And very nice of him to protect P&R, even though (double-turncoats that they are!) he's actually got no compelling cause to save their sorry hides!

And Teague! Scary dude indeed, but with such a soft, sentimental side for his lost Isabel, and for little Jamie as well! Love his "I won't shoot 'em. At least until after the holidays." Methinks it would be prudent for P&R to err on the side of caution, and make other plans for the New Year! ;-)

Another fine P&R (mis)adventure! Great fun, and a simply divine little Christmas fic!

Forgive the lateness of my reply -- I'm afraid the holidays rose up and overwhelmed me this last week and I lost track of things. I really appreciate your detailed feedback on this, and am very glad you found everyone in character! Thank you so much for reading and for the wonderful comments.

Happy Holidays!!
