I can't sleep right now for worrying--I'm only 5 degrees away from losing ALL my daffodil blooms this spring.

Did they make it?

I think the daffodils did but the jury's still out on the flowering Magnolia's and the fruit trees.
BOTH of my two peach trees are trying to open up and I have a young pear tree that's going to explode any day now (into a mass of white flowers!)

Very lovely. We got a cold snap in Chicago area yesterday, not that bad, but it abruptly got cold around noon.

Usually, the snowstorms go south of us - by the WI/IL border. But this time we were on the southern edge.

Oh, no! That isn't good. It's supposed to do that here, too, any minute now. Hoping it holds off until after the sun comes up and we have a chance of it being rain instead.

*shrug* Spring in Wisconsin. It's been rather nice out today and yesterday. The snow was mostly gone by today.

We barely got an inch and a half. It only remains in the shady areas, so I'm OK with it. I'm glad we missed the major amounts.

I always say I don't mind winter however long it lasts, but once it's gone it needs to stay gone.

Our local big garden center also carries a large selection of interior decorations. One year they had a bunch of bright and/or gaudy glass artwork/decorations. It was half price, so I picked this up for the garden. Twenty bucks, maybe? The extra color is needed at some points of the year. I think glass is absolutely the best material for outdoor decorations, as long as it's thick enough. This one is solid. Metal rusts, plastic fades and breaks down, wood rots, paint peels - glass is pretty much forever.

Here's a closeup of it at its base. With some fungus.
