This is why I like Kaiser, a staff model HMO. They don't deny claims as the docs are either employees or have previous agreements. When I had an emergency appendectomy I saw not one bill--not for the ambulance, the anesthesia, the surgery, pain killers, or hospital costs. It was like I was living in Sweden.
