Aww, poor Freddie. That is a horrible way to die but it sounds like he had a good life with you and was very much loved. Chinchillas are the softest things in the history of ever so I'm jealous that you got to have one of your own as a little neck-warmer, even with him being such a chewer and destroying stuffs. It sounds like he loved you very much indeed. And it sounds like Pepsi was much loved too (and loved you too - I know what a trusting thing it is for them to let you stroke their heads), and yay for him living so long. Budgies are such pretty birds and I think the blue ones are my favourites but if they're anything like cockatiels for noise, I can imagine how quiet the house seemed after he died!

Chinchillas amaze me! We don't have them over here. They're like a possum crossed with a rabbit or something :o)

They are the most adorable creatures; they're more like squirrels crossed with rabbits, but then they are all rodents! They're native to the Andes in South America so we only have them here as pets. They're still a fairly uncommon pet choice yet but slowly becoming more popular.
