You poor thing! First off, don't buy anything expensive. The baby will out grow it way too fast, so unless you plan on this being the first of several, median price is better. The most important thing to think is 'is it safe?' Will it collapse or tip over. Then is it practical for your life style? Instead of worrying about moses basket or anything like that, get a good crib, maybe one that converts to a toddler bed. Then get a good baby monitor, one with several frequencies so you can personalize it. Don't laugh, my nieghbor's kept broadcasting on mine. Freaked me out hearing a baby cryig while watching mine sleeping until I realized I was picking up another monitor

Sweetie, you are going to be so tired the first year you are not going to have time to worry about your outfits. A good day will be when you manage to get in a shower and comb your hair and make sure your socks match. Okay, I'm being (only a little bit) over the top, but really, you won't have much time to worry about it. You'll be so into that baby it won't much matter

When you have to worry about so much regarding biology, I don't think you are so out of the norm when it comes to worrying about your appearance.
First you have to worry about motherhood, then you worry about everything the kid will do, and I think it is a natural development to have a concern about your appearance.
Many mums have the conflict of attempting to look respectable without losing your identity.
With as much concern as you are showing - you shouldn't have a fear. You will be excellent.
