Is it bad to have two VISA cards? I have a Macy's Visa and the lowest they'll make my APR is 16.99% which is just crap 'cause my credit is great. They fed me some line saying that's the lowest they can offer to any of their customers. I'm thinking about getting a PayPal Visa because they're offering 0% fixed APR for 6 Months on Purchases and ( Read more... )

I have a PayPal Visa (from Providian). I got offered that same deal, but after that, they sneak it up all the way to 23.99%. Yikes!! So be sure to watch carefully. Also, one time, even though I mailed my payment TWO DAYS before the due date, they snuck on a late fee. I called and got it removed, but look out for their little games.

Of course, if you don't carry a balance, the APR is moot.

Did you call them and get it lowered?

I'm the carrying balance queen :D

Yes, and they claimed they "can't" lower it, which is bullshit.

When I company says they "can't" do something, it means they don't want to.

My balance is $0 now, anyway. I showed them!

i have no visa cards. thank god. but it would be nice to have some sort of a fallback in case of emergency.

i had to break a lease when i was 21 because i went into the hospital for over a month. the apt complex (archstone redmond hill - stay away!) didn't give a rat's ass, so i have almost $3000 in bad debt as a result. i've kind of resigned myself to it. i don't see how i'll ever be able to make a dent in it while i'm still in school.

Trust me, I wish I didn't have credit cards. I was seriously so close to being out of debt when I met Brian. Not saying it's his fault at all, just tha I was working towards only having a cc for emergencies. Now we seem to use it for everything 'cause we're broke :( It's like a never ending cycle.

you can always apply for it and just not use it if they dont give you enough. the things that effect credit rating is debt. not having cards. if you have a card with no balance, it won't hurt you.

" Is it bad to have two VISA cards?"

No, not especially. What counts is not how MANY credit cards you have but what kind of balances you carry. You're better off owing $1000 each on two credit cards, than $5000 on one.
