1. Guys, I finished the latest chapter of Influence!!! *throws confetti, blows kazoos, engages in general merry-making* I'd been angsting so much about the info-dump and how to execute it that I just decided to ignore it for a bit and do other stuff. Finally, I looked back at it and...it's not too bad. I finally worked out how to end the chapter

It's a very handy site. Possibly disturbing for some people just because...yeah, drug-use. But when you're writing about it, you kinda need to get down to the nitty gritty.

I am surprised, though, that nobody picked up on the fact that Spike was seemingly able to enter the Trio's house uninvited in the latest Murphy chapter.

Well, from the way you described the house (no one living in the upstairs), I kind of got the impression the Trio was just squatting and thus it wasn't considered a home that required invitation (like how hotel rooms don't require them). Granted, they'd been there long enough to set up surveillance, but I have no idea how long you have to stay in a place for it to become "home" enough for the invitation to work, so it's all semantic anyway.

That is an alternate fanwank for it. Though I thought it might be a stretch considering they had electricity and a working phone line there. Besides, it is the house from Normal Again, and it is made explicit in the episode that they actually rented it.

Jonathan: Stuck in this basement for weeks. We rented the whole house, can't we at least sleep upstairs?

Murphy actually sticks pretty close to canon (you know, aside from the whole Glory thing).

Aww, it's somewhat refreshing to underestimate someone's dedication to canon. :) I figured that once it diverged on the Glory stuff, you were just doing your own thing with the rest of the details.

Yeah, given the lack of an actual external plot in canon S6, it's hard to convey that all other events occur as they normally would. I've tried to do so subtly when I could. Ms. Kroger still visits in Ch 4, and the Trio do make an "appearance" in Ch 5 when they try to steal Buffy's ATM card while invisible (with the invisibility gun seen in Gone). I had to consider whether the Katrina murder would still occur in this AU, and I couldn't think of any way that the Scoobies going underground would affect that, so I was able to utilize that event here.

Other than that...yeah, Buffy never gets a job so Doublemeat Palace is out. Dead Things would have happened without the Scoobies. And the next chapter revolves around Buffy's birthday, so it's about at Older and Far Away on the timeline.
