Guys, I finished the latest chapter of Influence!!! *throws confetti, blows kazoos, engages in general merry-making* I'd been angsting so much about the info-dump and how to execute it that I just decided to ignore it for a bit and do other stuff. Finally, I looked back at it and...it's not too bad. I finally worked out how to end the chapter

Well, from the way you described the house (no one living in the upstairs), I kind of got the impression the Trio was just squatting and thus it wasn't considered a home that required invitation (like how hotel rooms don't require them). Granted, they'd been there long enough to set up surveillance, but I have no idea how long you have to stay in a place for it to become "home" enough for the invitation to work, so it's all semantic anyway.

Jonathan: Stuck in this basement for weeks. We rented the whole house, can't we at least sleep upstairs?
Murphy actually sticks pretty close to canon (you know, aside from the whole Glory thing).

Other than that...yeah, Buffy never gets a job so Doublemeat Palace is out. Dead Things would have happened without the Scoobies. And the next chapter revolves around Buffy's birthday, so it's about at Older and Far Away on the timeline.
