Hey! Sorry to be so late with this. I love a good thunderstorm, but not the mess it leaves behind. Anyway, to your question...

I blame most of my personality on my father. He was in the Navy when I was growing up and he'd be gone for months when on sea duty, so - being a daddy's girl - when he was home I spent every moment I could with him. He taught me to appreciate the military and the sacrifices they make for us, gave me a love of history, taught me to question and think logically, and insisted that everyone should pay attention to politics and "participate in the process." Probably the worst thing he gave me was a really dry, odd sense of humor.

I loved that man and miss him fiercely.

My real name is Cassandra - the most maligned woman in Greek mythology! My father named my sister (Deidre - the most mispronounced name ever!) and I and on bad days I really envied my brothers (who were named by my mother) who got ordinary names - James Jr. and Fredrick. My family usually calls me Sandy, but I use Cassandra in my "professional" life.

My nickname... GA is the state I live in (Georgia) and "unicorn" because I collect them. I just threw that name together, with very little thought, when I first came online and wanted to enter a gaming site to find people who would play cribbage or backgammon (yes, I'm the most boring gamer ever!). I always meant to come up with something better, but then I got involved with the Stargate fandom and it just never happened. I know a lot of people have multiple personae online, but I've stuck to just being ga_unicorn.

Thank you so much! They're lovely and most of them look like proper unicorns (as opposed to horses with horns). I might have to make some icons. ;)
