I agree with you they HAVE to let the sheriff know this season. Personally I think they need him to know. And I have a whole list of reasons why too. Maybe that is why, like you, I love readding fics where he knows.

I only fear they fuck it up and he turns hunter which I can never see for him.

Hmm, I can't see him going that far, but I do suspect he'll find out some other way than being told by the kids. It's great in fics because we don't cover the same ground most of the time, but there's not a lot of mileage for a TV show arc in him immediately being on their side?

But one thing I love about the show is that 99% of the time the werewolves aren't the bad guys, and the sheriff would see that in the end.

So true I believe that in the end he will see that which will help out the Werewolves in the long run (hopfully)

I think he learn a hard way too, because by now Stiles should have told his dad. I think he should have after the Station attack. However I also beleive that FBI would have been all over that town after that attack. But it is just a show, as I am told all the time.
