I did a good job keeping up with comments for a couple days at the beginning of the week, then got involved in the Democratic convention so I'm a couple days behind again - will try to catch up today. Have also been trying to catch up with some of the reading I'd bookmarked - YAY

Hey, we are going through similar feelings about the election.

My main fear is that since the Republicans got away with out-and-out cheating in the last election they will only be encouraged to go all out here. The Democrats had better be gearing up to handle this long before we go to the polls.

The idea that any woman is better than no woman is incredibly insulting. To put someone up with no experience and who is so ultra-right-wing, when the Republicans do have other women with more experience says a lot about how desperate they are and speaks badly of John McCain - who has never worked with her. Still, I become less fearful of her impact the more I learn about her.

I want to believe that women won't vote for McCain just because of Palin - but I'm worried. It's going to be a long 2 months!!

That's what I'm worried about too - as much as I want to believe that women are smarter than that, I'm worried.

At least I have Keith O. 5 nights a week to give voice to some of my feelings and fears - and Rachel Maddow gets her own show starting 9/8 - YAY!!
