That's so totally cool! I thought it was the demo picture at first and then I read your entry properly and realised you actually carve it. Wow! I wish we had a pumpkin carving tradition in Australia... it looks like so much fun.

Thank you!! It was amazingly fun and it looked a lot better with the candle lit and the lights off.

You should just start an entire country-wide tradition by randomly picking a day and putting out a carved pumpkin! There was one November when I was a kid and friends of my parents had leftover pumpkins. We were over for a dinner party and I spent the entire night on the porch carving pumpkins for absolutely no reason. Good times!

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE FLYING DUTCHMAN! I spent half an hour reading up on it online just now. So, case closed! Pirate ships ARE Halloween-y!
