"Merlin!" Arthur nigh-on bellowed, staring incredulously at his inert manservant as an odd, humanoid creature ran whooping into the distance with his crown. "What do you think you're doing? Chase after that... thing... at once!"

"Arthur," Merlin said, the hint of a smile creeping into his eyes, "everybody else already has, and it's ages away now. Why don't you just sit down? I'll bring you a drink to calm you down."

"I don't want a drink," the prince complained, perfectly aware of how petulant he was being; he'd probably regret it later, but for now he was quite happy to sulk. "I want my crown, and if you don't bring it back within the hour I'll have you thrown in the stocks."

"We both know you'll probably do that anyway."

Arthur paused, displeased at being caught out. "Look, I'm ordering you to follow that... that thing."

"I think," Merlin said pointedly, "you mean the monkey."

"Whatever it's called. The Crownthief Beast."

"Monkey," repeated Merlin as he prepared tea Arthur didn't intend to drink; he probably knew about ( ... )

:O I love youuuu; this ACTUALLY PRETTY MUCH HAPPENS with the original Alex and Marco, who aren't set in the sixties XD I'm looking forward to writing this. Marco probably isn't going to like it though XD
