→ [RL w/Guy: Sleeping with the Enemy Virus]

Jul 07, 2008 14:53

With a thinly-veiled show of bravado, Robin convinced his men that he was leaving to meet with Marian; amazingly, none of them (save for perhaps Much, but he didn't say a word, bless his heart) noticed when he headed in the wrong direction -- not towards Nottingham, but to the outskirts of Sherwood, where Gisborne waited ( Read more... )

[And though every inch of him told him to bring someone, to have someone hiding-- he kept his word. Probably for the first time, with Robin, in... ever. He'd paced his way about every tree within reach he figured, finally rooting himself down against one, chewing at the leather thumb of his glove nervously. This was ridiculous, frivolous-- he couldn't just disappear again, couldn't just send the horse back alone as he had so many times recently. It wasn't right-- this wasn't right and every single part of him refused to move ( ... )

Robin stumbled to a stop, leaning an arm on a tree just far enough from Guy to keep a reasonable distance between them. Between gasps for air, he mustered an angry glare, the first he'd ever had to force himself to give his worst enemy. Tormenting Guy was like breathing for Robin; but now, he could barely focus on anything but the way Gisborne sounded when he said his name like that, the way the other man fidgeted despite his best efforts.

"I am," he confirmed, for lack of anything else to say. He forced himself to look away, biting at his lower lip, wondering what now-- Well, he had suggested he'd take him and he certainly wasn't going to shag him in the middle of Sherwood; his men might be--

He bristled, taking a halfstep back, "You are alone?"

"Completely," Robin nodded and took a step away from the tree, extending a hand towards the woods behind him. "They were keen on accompanying me to woo Marian. Very likely because they know me to get myself into trouble, but..." He trailed off, the guilt setting in of lying to his men. He lied to them, so he could see Guy. If they had only known, they would have been all around, hidden behind this tree and that, ready to strike on his command.

But they weren't. Robin took another, cautionary step closer to Gisborne. "You are, too? Save for the horse, I mean."
