In which Al has a crush

After Al had finally gotten away from Larsa Solidor, it had been one straight beeline run towards the Ravenclaw dorm room, scrambling into his and his brother's room to the bathroom where the door was slammed so hard it banged from the closure and crept open a little. He undressed, and whirled around, yanking the door shut but completely forgetting

"IT'S NOT -WORKING-!! WHY ISN'T IT WORKING?!" Came the hellish scream from the bathroom. He jerked the stream to something manageably more warmer, trembling as he tried to pry his mind from latching onto images of Larsa's mouth...his eyes. His smile, and the way his tongue moved over his lips. A long whine escaped the younger boy as he shoved his face into the spray of water.

"What, is the shower broken? I can have Winry fix it later... What're you so worked up about anyway?," Ed shouted over the sound of the shower.

He gave a frustrated sob. "Damnit! Cold water is supposed to work..." He whined. It was a valliant battle but soon the young boy gave into his urges. Silence reigned over the bathroom.

"What does he mean by 'cold water is supposed to work'," Ed muttered to himself. A moment later, realization of what Al was up to dawned on him and Ed scrambled away from the door in a comical fashion. He quickly hopped up onto the bed and tried to get back into the book he was reading previously.

he went beet red. "...Yes." He whispered, staring at his knee caps, biting his lower lip.

"...Oh." Ed turned red as well. "He must have been something special then?"

"Oh Ed!" He suddenly gushed, "Oh he was so pretty!" He said said, sitting on his hands and knees now. "Oh he had this hair...oh and these -eyes-! Oh Ed, he had the prettiest smile!"

Ed idly wished Winry was around right then to listen to Al gush over his new boycrush. He forced himself to smile. "Oh? Did he, er, sound interested in you?"

"No no..." He blushed. "I don't know...would you be worried if he were older?" He asked curiously, looking at his brother curiously. "Well..i mean...not older like...old man old, but...I don't know what I mean..." He said looking confused.

"Well, if he was a year or two older, I don't think I'd mind, but any older than that... I dunno."

He nodded. "Yeah..I mean...i'm still a kid, right?" He said smiling. "No real sense in getting mixed up with adults." He teased.

Ed nodded. "Or adult things. You're too young to be doing that kind of thing. Well, with other people anyway. We both know what you were up to back there, and..."

He pinched the bridge of his nose and took a deep breath. Oh, how he wished he didn't have to have these talk with Al. "...And there's nothing wrong with that. Dunno why you even bothered with the cold shower."

"I was joking!" He laughed, then rubbed his head a bit. "I was just joking, brother. I don't know if we'll be anything other than friends."

"And you're alright with that?," he asked, eyebrow raised.

"I will probably die, if it ever happens. But i should be fine after that!" He laughed.

"Yeah, well, don't give up hope," Ed said in an encouraging tone.

He nodded softly, should have figured Winry took charge as usual. He smiled at that thought and settled against the headboard staring at the ceiling with an odd smile on his face.

"..Do you think it'd be okay if I fell in love with him?" He asked his brother curiously.

"At your age?," Ed asked cautiously, "I think you might be a bit young to really know what all that's about."

"Mmm...alright." He said in a dreamy voice, apparently floating in the fluffy pink clouds that were currently occupying his brain.

"And you'll only hurt yourself if he's not in love with you- Al, are you even listening to me?"
