Room 405, Wednesday morning

Joker stirred into consciousness gradually. He wondered what time it was. The sun was up -- but then, that wasn't much of a surprise. The sun had been starting to rise when he and Eleanor had finally fallen asleep. He nuzzled back up against her contentedly, and gave her a light kiss on the forehead. He'd meant for that kiss to lead into him

"No," Eleanor laughed, wriggling happily against him. "I'm deeply asleep. I'll start snoring any moment."

That didn't stop her from sighing as he worked on her ear. "What time is it?"

"Oh, you snore, now?" Joker teased. "Well, we can't have that. I'll have to find a way to stop you." He looked around to try to see the time, but his clock was positioned so he couldn't read it without sitting up, and his omnitool was on the nightstand, where he'd have to practically climb over Eleanor to reach it. "Does it matter what the time is?" he asked. "You don't have anywhere to be, do you?"

Eleanor rolled back just far enough that she could kiss the tip of Joker's nose.

"I have work," she said. "You know, work? That thing that those of us who don't get allowances do, for money?"

"You don't have to go to work," Joker tried to insist. "C'mon, stay. Call in sick. It's not like there aren't plenty of other people staying in today."
