Author’s Note: This is Amy leaving Logan and Danny coming in at the wrong time.
I'm not the sort of person who falls in and quickly out of love
But to you, I give my affection, right from the start.
I have a lover who loves me - how could I break such a heart?
Yet still you get my attention.
Sometimes love isn’t enough, Amy thought to herself, pulling her clothes out of Logan’s closet and tossing them onto the bed behind her. What if I want more than love?
Amy felt someone’s eyes on her back, but didn’t turn around. Instead she stopped fishing for clothing and dropped her arms to her sides, looking at the ground and waiting for Logan to say something to her.
"You’re really leaving me for him," said Logan from the bedroom door. Amy continued to stare at the bottom of the closet, nodding her head. "That’s just fantastic."
"I get that you’re pissed-"
"No you don’t," he said with a scoff. "You can’t possibly know how pissed off I am, Amy."
"I know you played cool for my parents and I really appreciate it," began Amy, reaching up to touch one of her coats, letting the fabric drift under her fingers. "But I do know how pissed off you are."
"Why are you leaving?" Logan asked her turning away from her and looking at her clothes strew across the bed.
"Because he give gives me more than you do," said Amy softly, knowing that he was going to take that the wrong way and flinched at his tone when he responded.
"What can he give you that I can’t, Amy? I doubt that he can give you anything more than a two bedroom apartment and his word that he loves you."
"It’s more than that. It’s more than love, he makes me laugh and he infuriates me and he grates every last nerve that I have and I can’t stay away from him, I was never able to."
Logan’s face fell. "Are trying to tell me something?"
"Yeah," said Amy softly. "But I don’t want you to hate me anymore than you already do. So," Amy paused and picked the coat off the hanger, turning around and tossing it on the bed by her other clothes. "I’m going to go."
"You can’t just leave. What the hell do you want to tell me?" asked Logan, taking a step back and watching Amy pick a duffle bag off the floor and start stuffing her clothes in it. She slung her bag over her shoulder after she was finished and gave Logan a look, telling him he wasn’t going to get an answer.
"Did you cheat on me with him?" asked Logan before she’d even step out of the bedroom. Amy froze and sighed, tilting her head to the side. "You did, didn’t you?"
"It was a mistake, but-"
"You don’t regret it," finished Logan. He sat down on his bed and stared at the floor, resting his forearms on his knees for a while, not noticing or caring if Amy was leaving or not.
"No, I don’t," said Amy. "I thought I did, but I don’t. Is was denying the inevitable-"
"So instead of dumping me while we were engaged, you decide to dump me in the middle of our wedding," interrupted Logan, his tone icy and bitter. "I know you don’t think before you act but that was just you being a complete whore, Amy-"
"I’m sorry!" shouted Amy, dropping her bag and spinning around. "I’m sorry I don’t love you, I’m sorry I never did. I’m sorry you were a rebound for Danny twice. And I’m sorry you hate me."
Logan didn’t say anything, he opened his mouth after a minute but was interrupted by someone knocking on the door. He sighed and stood up, brushing past Amy and opening the door.
"Oh. Messer."
"Scott," said Danny uncomfortably. Looking around him at Amy. "You ready to go?"
"Absolutely," said Amy, catching Logan’s eye as she passed him, following Danny out of her old apartment and listening to the door slam shut behind them. Danny looked over at her, placing his hand on her elbow and stopping her.
"You okay?" he asked with a frown. Amy nodded and Danny nodded back, kissing her on the cheek and began walking again.
"I just wish I broke his heart sooner."
Why do you come here, when you know I've got troubles enough?
Why do you call me, when you know I can't answer the phone?
And make me lie when I don't want to,
And make someone else some kind of an unknowing fool?
Make me stay when I should not?
If you're so strong then resolve the weakness in me.
Why do you come here, and pretend to be just passing by?
I need to see you - I need to hold you - tightly.
