Holy Darkness Batman! Well done. Boy is your El fierce in a lioness kind of way.

Again, absolutely beautiful descriptions.

And, would you kindly get out of my head.

I've just completed 12,000 words of a AU of Checkmate which has some very similar counterpoints to what you've written here. Oh well.

This is great, all the pieces in place in the show pushed to their logical limits and then over the edge! (Much like the chess pieces being thrown off the board.) I was wondering if Neal would turn the gun on himself at the last minute, taking himself out of the equation -- but that would give him some agency. He is pathologically driven to obey Elizabeth. I don't think Peter could ever forgive her if he found out. He could forgive murder, I think, but not manipulating someone else into doing it. Very though-provoking, thanks for writing and sharing it!

This was absolutely fantastic. I love the whole dark, panicky feel of it. And how Neal, no matter what he's feeling on the inside, covers it with smile and does what needs to be done. Amazing job. Any chance of a continuation? I'd love to see what happens when Neal confronts Keller, and how they all deal with the aftermath. :D

This is just wonderful and I love it to bits. Neal. Elizabeth. Peter when he finds out. Argh! It's heartbreaking and incredibly tense, and I love how you've used the chess theme all the way through. I don't even know what to say to express how marvellous this is. Eeeeeeee!
