Not My Finest Year

Sep 10, 2010 02:37

Judging by the date of my last entry... yeah. Not a very good year at all. I have been spending way too much of it in bed. I crashed really early last night and woke up at 2 and couldn't get back to sleep, but miraculously had two brain cells and could move my hands without them hurting, so whee livejournal ( Read more... )

We can go find you a cell phone while you're here if you like! Easy peasy.

I may buy one in the airport if it is possible. Or in NJ if not. Some random disposaphone, the tax for being slow at buying a real phone. ;)

And sadly... I had actually walked into Verizon to scope out the HTC Incredible and I was so incensed by how terribad the GPS was (it could not locate me within a mile of my location) that I didn't even bother looking at anything else. Or asking the salescritter if that was a fluke or the shop was in a Faraday cage or something. So I COULD have a phone right now. I just refuse to pay smartphone monthlies for a device I never use that doesn't even have good GPS. They were busy and I was tired or I might've found something else, but... oh well.

My calcium supplement has a healthy amount of vitamin D in it, which has taken "worry about vitamin D" entirely off my list. But I only started taking it toward the end of winter, so I haven't had a real solid month of "WHERE IS THE SUN" to see if it impacts my health and attitude through that.

Sorry this year's been so bad, but it's always nice to see updates when you can manage them.

I'm taking 1200 IU when I remember to take my vitamins, but apparently that's only a drop in the bucket for someone with autoimmunes. OTOH the low D in people with autoimmunes may be a symptom that can't be corrected. (People with autoimmunes seem to go through D3 with a vengeance and "normally" be low... but some autoimmunes like MS benefit *hugely* from exposure to sunlight.) Anyhow I should figure out where I am at before I go up from that dose or think about supplementing with dosages of sunlight, since it's already pretty high.

I have been wondering about you. Sorry things have been rough. How about cod liver oil for your Vitamin D ? I take a lot of it ( Carlsons) and feel it is a good anti inflammatory, anti depressant, Vit. D source.

Hang in there!!

I've been taking cod liver based d3 and salmon based omega 3s. I need to get a d test still (doc signed off on it but was unable to get to lab). I am thinking of "dosing" with sunshine -- as long as I don't burn myself melanoma risk is fine. But need to get something to lie on as I am too tired even to sit on porch.

Thankfully brad is managing cooking so my nutrition has been great.
