The parents have been and gone. We had a fairly good time, although the weather wasn't terribly nice: at least it was mostly dry. I kept staying up far too late chatting, oops. It was Mike's work Chirstmas do on Monday, so they took me out for a lovely dinner at Deeson's ( Read more... )

Though charity shops can't (usually) sell electricals for the reason Vicarage gives, the British Heart Foundation will usually take electrical goods off your hands and sell them through central outlets - they may even collect. The other charity which takes furniture and electricals is Emmaus, if they have a branch in your area, though they don't usually collect.

Ta: I've asked the BHF to come and get them. (I would take them to the shop, but I don't fancy carrying them through the centre of Canterbury....)
