As I was reading this entry, I heard a tour guide say, "So, if you ever get stressed out because you feel like you have to be an adult, just go up to the children's reading room!" It felt quite apropos. That said, I definitely agree with this. I mean, sometimes I worry that the only reason I feel that way is because I want to validate certain habits of mine (such as getting really enthusiastic about things, overusing the word "really", approaching everything earnestly, and wearing bright clothing), but these habits are not harmful, and I feel like being able to be comfortable with the choices that make you who you are is also a big part of being "mature". That was... the longest sentence ever, and I'm not certain it made sense

No, I like your long sentence! I don't think I'd be half as defensive about this stuff if I weren't someone who has retained a lot of "childlike" or...uh, "teenagerlike?"...mannerisms and interests into her twenties, etc. I also think I have a valid point, no matter that it stems partly from a desire to continue doing things I like to do without feeling as though I should feel guilty about them.

...Also, I think it's actually hotter there than it is here. They said the East Coast wouldn't be safe for long, but wow. How can you drink coffee?

1. I had to wake up pretty early; it wasn't as hot then.

2. I really like coffee.

3. I can always drink the coffee in the basement if the kitchen is hot enough to make it unpleasant.
