Great choices! Obviously I love Jeff/Annie like burning. And Anna and the King! Such an underrated movie. I just ignore the historical inaccuracies. They have such a beautifully subtle relationship. It's lovely.

Oh, goodness, Anna and the King makes me melt every time I watch it. I love how the romance was there, plain as day, and yet it was mostly in the subtext. Guh, I love it.

I really need to see Anna and the King someday soon. I remember being interested in it when it came out but being too busy to go see it, and the reviews were so iffy that i didn't ever see it. But i loved the King and I when I was little. I'm pretty sure our tastes are similar enough on ships that I will enjoy this one. XD I could even claim it for research because it's a beauty and the beast retelling and I'm working on a project concerning that myth/fairy tale.

I actually recently came to the conclusion that My Fair Lady is a beauty and the beast retelling, also. I think anyway that it hits enough of the criteria.

Oooooh, yes, yes, definitely watch Anna and the King! While the film itself has its flaws, the love story is so ridiculously beautiful, and unlike most movies, it manages to keep the romance subtle (and it's basically a canon subtext ship, if that makes any sense). Plus, I really loved the Tuptim story, too (when I am in a hurry and vow to myself that I will only watch the Anna/King scenes, I always fail and end up watching at least the courtroom scene where Tuptim gives her epic speech).

Thanks for the rec. Slow Show was beautiful - funny and sad and heartwarming and romantic (oh, and hot). And I loved how the progression of Jeff and Annie's relationship was so organic. ♥ Definitely going into my mems.
