I actually made a post about this over at wtf_nature but I figured I could share with my f-list. :3 If anyone wants to know what my research lab is doing, this is a part of it. After studying Drosophila's history as geneticists' "golden boy", I've actually started to find them... cute ^^

It's weird, because they are friggin' flies. But after staring at their pictures for weeks, all I could think was that the big eyes and little legs and wings and were adorable ^^"

Haha you're not crazy at all, all the people that work with it are very fond of it. It's actually GORGEOUS under the microscope, and they're absolutely harmless and aren't all filthy and stuff like house flies. XD; When you mess with them, you can get really "cute" phenotypes, like flies that have curly wings (they jump everywhere instead) and "tubby" flies, which are really short and round looking.
