When there was an Irish formula one team on the go they were sponsored by Benson and Hedges and they could not advertise the name same way as Marlboro sponsored Ferrari. Marlboro just had a white square while the Jordan teams cars had Bitter heroes one week something else the next week, it made more headlines than if they did nothing because people would watch to see what the slogan would be. I remember seeing the Bitter Heroes one on loads of screen savers and backgrounds etc, more often than not on non smokers!

Ooo, there was an Irish formula one team? What was that? I used to watch it when I was younger, but haven't for many years - maybe it's time to start watching when the season starts again, now that I have a telly and all :)

Used to be team Jordan, it was the only private racing team that was not a car company or a multinational, ie Ferrari, Mercedes, Renault, Benneton etc, then it became Jordan Honda. They had Michael Schumacher driving at the start of his career and Eddie Irvine spent a while there.

What is really weird is that even with huge warnings on the boxes - 'SMOKING KILLS' etc - people are still buying this product ... still giving their hard-earned money away to people who are already filthy rich, in return for a slow suicide.

People really are the most amazing idiots.

Indeed - thankfully I have never been able to understand why people smoke!
