The news that she would be killed next came as a shock to Rangiku, a slap to the face, or suddenly plunging into cold water. Of course, anyone would feel that way, hearing about their own death. A surreal nightmare.
She had prepared a bag of belongings to bring along with her, not knowing how long she would be there. She half realized she would be there until her looming death, but the other half didn't want to acknowledge that possibility. Her training had been...lax, to say in the least, since she had arrived here, Haineko somewhat neglected. At such a crucial time, however, her zanpakutou was returned to her side. She was ready. All she needed to do was wait for Renji to show up.
Renji arrived at her place as quickly as he could. He knocked loudly on her door. Not on purpose, but he always did things a bit boisteriously. He could admit he was extremely nervous now because of her being targeted. He had Zabimaru by his side, ready for anything.
"Oi! Rangiku! It's me, Renji! Open up!" He yelled.
She jolted at the sound of Renji knocking at the door, its loudness bursting unexpectedly through the quiet. "Jeez," she enunciated to herself, bringing her hand to her chest and regaining some semblance of calmness.
Making her way to the door, Rangiku pulled it open to find Renji standing there. She gave him a somewhat irritated look. "Do you have to be so loud? I can hear you just fine, without any yelling."
Renji grumbled a bit as he let himself in. "When the hell am I not loud?" He was jumpy, more jumpy than usual. It didn't really strike him that it could've been one of his friends targetted so soon. Maybe it wasn't exactly that soon, but still. It hit him recently realitively hard. He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Got your stuff together?" He asked in a softer tone.
