Yes, I did fall off the edge of the world, which as Michael Swanwick has observed (and contrary to Andy Capp), lies in the middle east. Of which more, later, perhaps. But life goes on even in free fall.
Is there any more of that novel you were writing, the one you sold a novella excerpt of to the magazine? I'm sorry, I've forgotten the title, except that it was one word & (contrary to the available evidence) memorable. & I identified linguistic roots for it. I just can't remember what they are . . .
HNY! It's good to 'see' you again. I was thinking about you recently and remembering comments you made at Readercon about being limited in what a 'housewife' can do and it made me wonder if any of that had created your long silence. I was going to ask Greg if he'd heard from you, were you ok.
Now I see that you have many talents, including building an amazing cake structure. And then eating it! Wow. I think I gained a pound just drooling over it.
The cake was (past tense, alas) very good. It shouldn't improve by sitting for two weeks covered in raspberry jam and marzipan but, strangely, it does.
Oh, yes, must remember to photograph my residency visa.
