Hermione had been shopping for books, for a change. There had been a numbed of titles just released that Hermione had been itching to get her hands on. She was even on her way to muggle London to restock her fiction collection when she came across someone more than familiar.
"Luna!" She smiled fondly but it faded slightly as she looked between Luna and Finnigan's. Oh Luna. Hermione could understand how it felt, to see someone you care, or cared about happy with another. Maybe not on the same level, but she got it.
"How are you?" Maybe that was obvious but she felt she should still ask. It had been quite a while since Hermione had come across the other girl, or heard anything from her and she couldn't help wonder what she'd been getting up to. "You look good!"
She turned those silvery blue eyes to the person that addressed her and found Hermione Granger. She hadn’t seen Hermione in some months and it was always a bit of a treat. For Hermione had always been different in her own ways. Perhaps that was why she had liked Harry, Ron, and Hermione. They didn’t fit into any real molds
( ... )
She nodded, agreeing with Luna's thought on 'Snorlock migration' she'd learned long ago that asking questions just lead to more and it was much easier to just agree.
When Luna didn't reply to the question of how she was, Hermione could only assume it wasn't very good. "Thank you, Luna." She replied as she quickly glanced around the street, as if following Luna's eyes to Finnigan's.
"Doxiecide? No, books, actually." Hermione informed her, indicating the bag in her hand.
Oh, well that made sense. "Oh, I'm not living in Ireland at the moment, Harry and I... Have moved to live closer to London, for the time being." Hermione explained with a shrug.
She didn't look at Hermione, her eyes wandering Diagon for a moment, watching the random people come and go, "It's always nice to live closer to London." she commented, "Ireland is nice, but far away."
"Are you studying more for those NEWTs level things?" she asked, finally turning and looking at her again. "It is always smart to get certifications before the governments go to hell."
Their world had gone to hell in a handbasket. Voldemort had returned and school had seemed like the least important thing to actually surviving. Death Eaters attacked the school.... teachers were recycled. People died. She just gave Hermione a small smile.
