Elizabeth stood near the buffet table, champagne in hand, watching the dancing crowd celebrate another successful treaty.
Elizabeth knew she should be celebrating as well, but she missed Atlantis.
She jumped once she felt a gentle hand on her shoulder and stared at the man taking the cup of champagne from her hands.
"John?"
"You didn't think I'd let my girl go to a party alone," he asked with a boyish grin.
Elizabeth blushed, "How did you-"
He leaned in, whispering in her ear, "They'll have to put more than a galaxy between us to keep me away from you."
