just saw juno today. very clever. witty dialogue. utterly delightful.

this movie has some great lines. the characters, juno especially, are all very clever and quick-witted. the relationship between juno and her parents (well, step-mother) is very sweet but at the same time edgy. they fight and yet support each other so thoroughly. when the dad and ( Read more... )

I saw this film last week and really enjoyed it as well. I liked most of the dialogue but there were certain bits that I felt was a bit too much. Too witty ( ... )

I don't think he was leaving Vanessa for Juno either, but I do think there was some chemistry--at least, he thought so. I felt it most when he said, "How do you see me?" when she reacted so vehemently about his announcement of leaving Vanessa. I definitely think she represented so much of what he wanted, so much of who he wanted to be. So, in that sense I agree with you. But I still feel there was an attraction there.

And I also agree that, at times, the movie was a little too witty. Still, I'd rather that than boring dialogue. :)

Yeah, there was chemistry but I never thought it would have evolved into anything more. Juno definately had a crush on him and he seemed to enjoy flirting with her, but I never got the impression that he actually wanted to BE with her. I remember the part when he said "What do you think of me?" and I remember thinking that he was asking her what she thought of him as a person. As in, what do you think of me for wanting to leave Vanessa? Or what do you think of me for wanting to pursue my dreams instead of being a father? But I see where you're coming from as well. That's what I loved so much about Juno and Mark's relationship. There is no right or wrong answer. Gotta love ambiguity! ;)
