That sucks. No constructive input, but here's hoping it is just your particular pants, because I bought a pair last week and I sure don't want them to give up the ghost that quickly!
Good luck contacting Torrid and Tripp. I hope they can help you out.
I find that happens to me with ANY pants that have even just a little bit of stretch to them. Stretch material seems to be the worst wear fabric ever for pants. :( I've gone through like six pairs of pants before I realized that my non-stretch jeans didn't do it. So I'm wondering if they're making these new Tripp pants with that kind of stretch material that wears easily?
I stopped buying those particular pants because I thought the color faded really quickly, so I can't really say if the quality has changed recently.
But! Torrid customer service is usually pretty helpful. Not sure they'll offer you a full refund but maybe an explanation and a "we're bummed" coupon of some type. Good luck!
I've honestly never heard anything good about the quality of Tripp jeans sold at Torrid and Hot Topic. I hear those ordered directly from Tripp are of good quality, but of course, aren't offered in plus sizes.
I bought a pair of them a year and a half back, maybe, and just never really wore them...maybe once or twice. And then I got a serving job where I'm required to wear black pants and a black polo, so naturally, I decided to wear these. They wore out within a few months. Actually, make that about 2 months, tops. A huge hole opened up on the seam...in the crotch area of the back of the pants (if that makes sense?), making them unbearable to wear. I have no idea if they were the same material as your first few pairs of pants, or the most recent, but it SUCKS that they wore out so quickly. And I do NOT have the money to drop on a new pair. And don't think I would. I found Lane Bryant Houston pants (pre-right fit) at the outlet and they're AMAZING for work. And I've been wearing them everyday for work and they don't have any wear at all.
