Today, when all the children awoke in their beds, they would discover a most joyous occasion! There was a carnival in town! A carnival just for them! Lots of ponies to ride at several different locations around the park. More ponies mean fewer lines, yay!

There might have been a high-pitched "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" when Annie saw there were ponies, and so of course she had to go for a ride.

You might even find her at all of those different locations around the park, just so no one would tell her she already had a turn. She was enterprising that way.

Clearly Rilla was the adult here and had to tell her she could do something or she might get her Disney eyes going.

"We have to ask the people who own the ponies," Rilla said, shifting Jims to her other hip, "because we don't want them to get sick."

"But... they're carrots! They make you see better," Annie reasoned. "That's why I have to eat them. Also 'cause it's nutritious."

"I do! Twice a day! Dental hygiene is very important," Annie said, like she'd been told that enough to recite it. "And I shouldn't have sugar. It makes me hyper."
