She didn't want a date, because that would put forth the wrong image that she needed one, but still, she felt obligated to look her absolute best. Ino found the dressing room fairly quickly, and tried the dress on. Her bruises from sparring with Cassandra were really obvious with how little the dress covered her back and shoulders. She twirled a bit to see how it moved and grinned down at her sandals. Those were going to have to go.

"Cher?" Ino stepped out of the room, "What do you think?"

"The dress looks very nice," Cher decided when she'd walked over. "The color's awesome, and okay, no more of whatever bruised you up, but overall I'd say it's a win."

Ino laughed, "The bruises are just part of training. I'll either get them healed or use concealer for the dance." She looked considering, "I'll get this dress, but do you have any silver heels to go with?"

"That we do!" she said, more than happy to be distracted by shoes. "I'll be right back!"

She ran off, returning a moment later with a pair of strappy silver heels. "Tah dah!"

"Those are perfect." Ino might have even been gushing. Just a bit.

"For the dance do you know if I need a partner in advance? Or is it okay just to show up alone?"

"Either works nowadays," Cher said, hoping that was still true for 2007. "If there's someone you want to go with, go ahead and ask, or else there is no shame in going alone. Even Cinderella went stag."

And Ino had no clue who Cinderella was. She got the gist of it though.

"Oh, that's good." Ino said with a smile, "I haven't really meet anyone I'm interested in yet. Do you have a date for it?" Because Cher? Totally seemed like the type who would.

"Nope!" she said. "I like to keep my options open. I don't know nearly enough people to start selecting dateable types yet."

"That makes sense." Ino said, "I'll just get changed and pay for this, alright?"

True to her words she slipped into the dressing room and was out again in her regular clothes quickly. The dress was gently held with one hand while the shoes dangled in the other.

"Congratulations, you are all set for homecoming," Cher said, heading up to the register to give her the total.

Ino followed and handed over her card without being asked. "I love this shop." she said, "It makes shopping so easy."
