Getting some fresh air had seemed like a much better idea before Sam had noticed who else was on the roof. He was tempted to turn around and go back downstairs, but it was a public space, and he didn't want to act like he'd been scared away. So, he tried to just stay out of Chuck's way instead, while also trying to ignore what it smelled like he was smoking.
Oh great. There was something that would disturb his high.
Chuck looked over at him for a moment and took a long drag of his joint, making sure that it would blow a lot of smoke into the air. The bruises on his face still weren't completely healed but he seemed to forget Dean's threats.
"Bass," Sam replied, calmly enough. "I should have known you were a smoker." It certainly explained how Chuck sounded, not that Sam was thinking about that.
