Dinah had been by a couple times in the last few weeks, hoping to catch Simon in, but no such luck.

"Is Dr. Tam in today?"

There was a chocolate-chip muffin with his name on it.

One of the nurses pointed towards a door, at the same time as Simon's head appeared. "Dinah!"

He tried not to sound tense, and probably failed. Returning the boxes he had been going through to their shelf, he closed the door. "How are you?"

"I'm good!" Dinah was a little wired herself, but she had a muffin to make it a little better. "Peace offering? Well, not peace, 'cause we weren't fighting, but awkwardness offering?"
