"Those are very lovely flowers," Kitty offers, a little shyly. She's been practically in hiding for some time now, and her old easy manner with new people is nearly forgotten.

"Doesn't make much sense to me, of course," Kitty says, perhaps a bit too insistently, "but they must exist or there wouldn't be a word for it."
